John is a person interested in achieving goals. At age 26, when he poised for a moment had a look at his life he didn’t like what he saw developing, it was time for a change. John at this time had achieved one of his goals of being a senior business manager for a firm in Sydney. With this position came a high income and company benefits but with long hours and high stress. John was lucky to be aware enough to see that most of the people he worked with were on their third marriage (one of the benefits of being the youngest person). This look into the future wasn’t something John wanted. John’s goals changed as he started increasing his investment into self development. A decision was made that life was also about living not just about being a slave to work.
The goal was now to be successful (each persons definition is different so have your own). To John, success was to have enough financial resources to do what he wanted, when he wanted and be in control of his own life. One part of this was to be financially secure so time could be spent with family and friends. In short he wanted out of the rat race.
This is when John started his journey into his own businesses. John had some experience of working with friends in property investment and helping a friend start his own business whilst being employed. John also had a half share in a French Polishing business. He was able to get to work on building this business up and eventually sold this to his business partner when he left Sydney.
On returning to New Zealand it was time to take stock. John needed a break, so took the best part of a year off to decide on the next phase of his life.
John has now been involved in a number of companies including financial services, property investment, property development, an exporting business, property management and a number of others.
John now lives in Ohope beach with his family and works with business owners who wish to take their business to another level or are looking at a lifestyle change.
